Richard Fackler

January 5, 1927 — December 21, 2015

Richard B. "Dick" Fackler, age 88, a longtime resident of Washington Township, NJ, formerly of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on December 21, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Melvin and Erma Fackler (nee Griesemer). Dick was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and Drexel University. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.



Beloved husband of the late Clare R. Fackler (nee Blankemeyer). Loving father of Rich (Paula) of Elmer, NJ, Dave of Washington Township, NJ and the late Susan Fackler. Also survived by his niece and nephews. Richard was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and Drexel University.



Richard was employed with Hungerford & Terry, Clayton, NJ, as Vice President and Technical Director for nearly 40 years retiring in 1994. He, along with assistance from other chemical engineers at Hungerford and Terry, developed a patent in 1963 for a process that is still used today around the world as the best available technology for removal of iron and manganese from ground water.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Monday 9:00-10:30 AM St. Charles Borromeo Church, 176 Stagecoach Road, Turnersville, NJ and to his Funeral Service at 10:30 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.



In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to Drexel University, 3141 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 would be appreciated.
