Richard Norton Grubb

Richard (Dick) Norton Grubb, CPA, died September 16, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late J. Vincent and Jane (Myers) Grubb. He is survived by his loving wife Diane (Powell) and daughters Colleen Meakim (Edward) and Nicole Evans (Jason), and his dearly beloved grandchildren Ryan, Taylor, Alyssa, and Casey. He is also survived by his brothers William, J. Vincent (Terri), Thomas (Maureen), his sister, Jane McGrath (Ken) and many nieces and nephews.

Dick attended Holy Cross Catholic School in Springfield and Monsignor Bonner in Drexel Hill graduating in 1963. He received his degree in Accounting from Temple University in 1968. Upon graduation, he joined the Marine Corps Reserves and graduated from Paris Island in 1969. During that time, he joined the accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP. In 1974, Dick became the in-house accountant of one of his early clients, Vishay Intertechnology in Malvern. Dick started his own accounting practice in 1980, while remaining as a financial consultant to Vishay. In 1995, he became the Chief Financial Officer of Vishay and also served on the Board of Directors. With Vishay, Dick had the opportunity to travel the world visiting Europe, China, Israel, and Japan.  

Dick had an active interest in genealogy, which contributed to publishing the book, The Grubb Family of Grubb’s Landing. His research of his ancestry led him to take his entire extended family to Ireland in 2001. He had a love for Sea Isle City, New Jersey where he spent his summers with his family. He was often referred to fondly as the "Mayor of 71^st Street". Dick and Diane celebrated their 50^th Wedding Anniversary in 2019 with their extended family.

Friends and family are invited Friday, September 22, 2023 to the viewing at St. Agnes Parish, West Chester at 10:00am, followed by a Mass at 11:00. Interment at Saint Agnes Cemetery in West Chester.
