JACKSONVILLE - Richard James Lechette, 78, of Jacksonville, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, died, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at his home. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 9:30 AM at St. Philomena Catholic Church, 41 East Baltimore Pike, Lansdowne, PA19050 where family and friends may gather in the church from 9:00 - 9:30 AM. Interment will take place at Westminster Cemetery, 701 Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA, immediately following Mass.
He served during the Korean War in the United States Navy. He retired from Septa Red Arrow Division after 32 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gabriel and Elizabeth Lechette and his daughter, Florence "Beth" Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lechette of Jacksonville, NC; sons, Richard Lechette (Joan) of Drexel Hill, PA, Andrew Lechette (Susan) of Claymont, DE, Thomas Lechette (Angel) of Lansdowne, PA, Joseph Lechette (Jessica) of Nottingham, PA, and Michael Lechette (Cynthia) of Jacksonville, NC; daughters, Lynda Lechette and significant other, Michael Perna of Havertown, PA, Dakota Lechette of Jacksonville, NC, and Anna Lechette of Jacksonville, NC; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Lechette of Fort Meyers, FL, and John Lechette of Rapid City, SD.
