Richard Thomas O'Donnell, 88, of Drexel Hill, PA, died peacefully in the arms of his family on January 12, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John J. and Catherine V. O'Donnell (nee McFadden).
Richard was a combat veteran of World War II and served in the Army Air Corps as a B-24 nose gunner. A former Philadelphia Police officer, he served with the department from the 12th District of Philadelphia and retired after 30 years of duty.
Richard was dedicated to his family and is survived by his loving children Brett, Lynn (Ted), Dale (Joe), Lisa (Steve), Beth (Tom), Pamela (Danny), Glenn, Richard (Patti), Cara (Bob), Lora (Frank), Bruce (Bonnie), David (Michelle), beloved niece Michelle (John), 44 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Barbara Anne O'Donnell (nee McGuckin), his beloved brother John (Jack) O'Donnell of Drexel Hill and sister Florence Love (O'Donnell) of Pennsauken, NJ.
