Richard Walter Sanderlin, age 81, of Essington, PA, passed away on May 24th, 2024. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Pamela Sanderlin. He was the son of the late Russel and Ruth (nee Heffley) Sanderlin.

Richard was born in Philadelphia on December 31st, 1942. He was known to be a kind and hardworking man. Richard leaves behind a legacy of warmth and camaraderie.

In his professional life, Richard upheld his responsibilities with unwavering commitment and diligence as a Station Operator for Septa. His dedication to his work touched the lives of many commuters and colleagues alike, who remember him fondly for his reliability and friendly demeanor.

Outside of work, Richard's interests were varied and brought him immense joy. A lover of music, he enjoyed playing the trombone whenever he could.  At the Schoolhouse Senior Community Center, he showcased his skills as a pool player, engaging in friendly competitions that brought laughter and friendship to all involved. In his leisure time, Richard could be found enjoying classic western films or testing his knowledge with episodes of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

Richard was not only dedicated to his passions but also deeply committed to his family. He is survived by his sons Neil Sanderlin and Jeffery Sanderlin, a granddaughter Michele along with an extensive family network including siblings Anna Sanderlin Philips Duncan, Kenneth, Joseph, and Ruth DeFalco. Richard is predeceased by his sisters Florance and Elizabeth, and his brothers John, James, and Russel. His memory will be cherished by numerous nieces and nephews who admired him for his wisdom and kindness.

In remembrance of Richard Walter Sanderlin's life, let us celebrate the impact he had on those around him and the lasting memories he created. His legacy will continue to inspire all whose lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Saturday June 15th, 2024, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM followed by his Memorial Service at 11:00AM at The Community Church of Folsom, 1212 Melrose Terrace, Rutledge, PA 19070.
