Richard A. Sprague, age 67, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away on February 28, 2014 after a long illness. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edwin S. and Hilda Sprague (nee Carlisle).
Richard was a graduate of Chester High School. He served in the U.S. Navy overseas on active duty from 1966 to 1971.
He was a long time member of St. Anastasia Church in Newtown Square. He was a member of the choir of St. Athanasius Church in the West Oak Lane neighborhood of Northwest Philadelphia for many years.
Locally, Richard was a popular hairstylist for over 40 years and had a devoted following for decades at Skip's Hair Affair. His dedication and generosity were legendary among his loving customers.
Richard is survived by his siblings Edwin H. (Virginia) Sprague of Buffalo, NY, Robert P. (Russ) Sprague of Paoli, PA, Lynn K. (Emidio) Taylor of Elkton, MD and a loving family of nieces and nephews.
