Richard Uhlman

Richard “Dick” R. Uhlman, 85, of West Chester, PA and formerly of Drexel Hill, PA passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on March 17, 2020.

Born in 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA he was the son of the late Raymond and Marie C. (née Wehner) Uhlman.

Dick was the beloved husband, for 60 years, of Carol G. (née Gallagher) Uhlman; loving father of Mary Ostoich (Rob) and Beth Murray (Dan); devoted grandfather of Catherine, Samantha, Alexa, Kylie (Nick Scelzi), Ian, Ryan and Jaclyn; proud great-grandfather of Aidan, Layla, Austin and Layne. He was predeceased by siblings, Dorothy Novesky, Laverne Malesic, Bernice Martin and Lois Uhlman.

He was a stock broker with E.W. Smith and Gruntal companies. Dick was the former President of the Investment Traders Association of Philadelphia.

He was a longtime member of the Llanerch Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf and Gin Rummy. As a big sports fan, he loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He also enjoyed spending time at the Jersey Shore and visiting the casinos.

Dick also volunteered his time as an Usher, Eucharistic Minister and Reader at SS Simon & Jude Church.

He was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Services and interment are private for family only due to the Coronavirus.
