Rita D. Rufo, age 94, of Lansdowne, formerly of Upper Darby and Philadelphia, on August 9, 2018 at Bryn Mawr Hospital.
Beloved daughter of the late Anna and Luigi Rufo born February 4, 1924 in Philadelphia; dear sister of the late Louis J. and Donato A. Rufo; loving aunt of Louis F. Rufo, Joan F. Durso, Charles L. Rufo (Sunny), Anthony M. Rufo, John F. Rufo (Janice), Mary F. Doughty (Michael), Ann F. Costello (James), Michael F. Rufo (Kim), and Donald A. Rufo; grand aunt of 14 nieces and nephews; great grand aunt of 8 nieces and nephews.
A proud graduate of Hawthorne School and South Philadelphia High School, Class of ‘43, she was a 35 year staffer of D. Newlin Fell School, where some students and faculty kept in touch with ‘Miss Rufo' even into this year.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Wednesday evening, August 15, 2018 6:30-9:00 PM and Thursday, August 16, 2018 8:00-9:15 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to her Funeral Mass 10:00 AM, at St. Philomena Church, 41 E. Baltimore Pike, Lansdowne, PA.
Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
