Robert "Ernie" Anderson, of Drexel Hill, on August 12, 2017, passed at home with family.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lezlie (nee Rutter); loving father to daughters, Adrian and Violet; also survived by a sister, Edith Anderson of Chicago. He also leaves his faithful collie, Duncan. Ernie touched many lives and will be very sadly missed by his family and so many friends.
He was born in Chicago and graduated from South Shore High School in 1965. He served in Vietnam, working in the operating room, from 1967-1969, graduated from Southern Illinois University with a BA degree in English Literature, and also graduated from the Restaurant School here in Philadelphia. He worked at the Four Seasons Hotel, Haverford College, and most recently at Ambrogi Foods.
He was a coach in the Upper Darby Youth Soccer Association, is past president of the Havertown Stamp Club and a member of the Swedish Cabin. His many interests included stamp collecting since age 10, art, opera, classical music, and was an avid reader of history and literature.
Friends are invited to attend his Visitation Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 6-7 PM followed by a Memorial Service from 7-7:30 PM at Grace Lutheran Church, 600 Edmonds Ave, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.
