Robert Thomas Carlton, Jr.

Robert Thomas Carlton, Jr., 73, of Strafford, PA, passed away on March 1, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Orange, NJ in 1949, he was the beloved son of the late Robert Thomas and Constance (nee Sautter) Carlton. Robert was a graduate of St. Benedict’s Prep, Newark, NJ, College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA, and Villanova Law School, PA. He remained a staunch supporter of College of the Holy Cross throughout his life. Robert was a trivia champ, movie buff, and a former marathon runner. Robert enjoyed golfing and was a member of Overbrook Country Club. He loved playing the guitar, reading, and was an avid Yankees fan.

Robert was the beloved husband of 45 years of Patricia M. (nee Larson) Carlton; loving father of Martha Ryan Carlton, Robert Thomas Carlton, III (Ewa Timingeriu), David L. Carlton (Kelly Blough), and Mary V. Carlton; dear brother of Christopher L. Carlton (Julia), Marianne Carlton, Dorothy A. Carlton-Herity (Bryan); also survived by many nieces and nephews.

To honor Bob’s memory, please be colorful in your dress – patch madras, Lilly, embroidered pants – you know, dress at nattily as he would have.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:30-11:00 AM Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at St. Katharine of Siena Church, 104 S. Aberdeen Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
