Robert E. "Bob" Cochran, Jr., 77, of Newtown Square, PA passed away on April 3, 2017.
Born in St. Louis, MO in 1939, he was the son of the late Lenore (nee O'Connor) and Robert E. Cochran, Sr.
Bob was the beloved husband of the late Katharine H. Cochran (nee Hartnett); loving father of Robert E. Cochran, III (Linda), Bryan M. Cochran (Cecilia), Kelly C. Xydis (Jason), and the late Craig H. Cochran; devoted grandfather of Alexis, Nicole, Daniel, Tess, Elizabeth, and Ethan; dear brother of Bill Cochran (Sylvia) and Bonnie Bence (Bob).
Born and raised in St. Louis Missouri, Bob was the product of a Jesuit education. He graduated from St. Louis University High School (Class of 1958) and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Louis University where he was a member of the SLU golf team. Bob was a salesman throughout his entire professional career, spending over 30 years in sales with Boise Cascade Corporation (Boise ID) and Graham Packaging Company (York PA). His Catholic faith, his family and his friends were the most important things in his life; he was blessed to have been married to his beloved wife for over 50 years, Katharine Hartnett Cochran. He embodied the Jesuit teaching of living his life as "A Man for Others".
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:30-10:30 AM Wednesday, April 19, 2017 St. John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Ln, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010 followed by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM. Interment Calvary Cem, St. Louis, MO at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Louis University High School, 4970 Oakland Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110.
