Robert Ellis

Robert T. Ellis, age 82, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on July 13, 2020.  Born and raised in West Philadelphia.

Bob started his career in sports at Villanova University in the Athletic Department.  Later he worked with the Philadelphia Bell of the World Football League.  Then onto the Houston Oilers and finally the Philadelphia Eagles as Assistant Ticket Manager. He finished out his working career as an operator and starter for SEPTA.

Bob was a youth league coach and commissioner for many years with HPKAA.  He was a diehard Eagles fan who attended the 1960 NFL Championship game, the team won at Franklin Field.

His true passion was his family.  In his later years, he loved attending his grandchildren’s school and sporting events.  Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia A. Ellis (nee Shanahan), his loving son, Rob Ellis (Maggie) and his dear grandchildren Bobby and Maddie Ellis.  He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Adeline Ellis (nee Schmidlin) and his brother, Harry Ellis.

Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. Laurence Lower Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA.   Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.

Masks are to be worn when visiting the family and to the Funeral Mass.   Social distancing is to be observed.
