Robert James Davis, 88, Longtime resident of Hershey's Mill, West Chester, PA, formerly of Broomall, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 19, 2014.
Robert was the beloved husband of Janice Wilkins Davis; father of Bradley Davis, Ellen Freed, and Leigh and Jehan Saulnier; grandfather of Connor and Casey Davis, Lindsay and Andrew Freed, and Olivia, Emmett, and Isabelle Saulnier.
He served honorably in the U.S. Air Corps during WWII.
Robert was a 1951 graduate of Ursinus College, where he earned his B.S. and M.S. in 1955. He received his Master of Arts at Villanova in 1966.
He gave 30 years of unselfish service at the Lower Merion School District as a science teacher, guidance counselor, and longtime football coach.
Robert was an avid golfer, he was Hershey's Mill Golf Club champion in 1996. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and bowling. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to join his family for a memorial service on May 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, 130 West Miner St, West Chester, PA, 19380, where friends may greet the family after 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to First Presbyterian Church at the above address.
