Robert J. Nunan, 88, of Upper Darby, PA passed away on June 30, 2017.
Born in Upper Darby, PA, he was the son of the late Robert F. and Marie C. (nee Kelly) Nunan.
Bob was a graduate of West Catholic Boys High School in 1948. He then went on and joined the United States Army and served during the Korean conflict. After his honorable discharge, he then went to work for the United States Postal Service where he worked as a letter carrier for over 37 years, receiving multiple service awards. After retiring from the Postal Service, he worked another 8 years for Spectaguard in security. Early on in his career, Bob and his wife Peg formed a drill team at the St Cyril of Alexandria School in East Lansdowne which was recognized by the Archdiocesan CYO and were awarded the Julia Forst Award. Bob was an avid sportsman, playing multiple sports early on and through mid life. Later in life, when Bob wasn't gardening or by the pool, you would find him enjoying a good game on the television.
He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret M. (nee Chapman) Nunan and loving brother-in-law of Bernadette K. Edington (Richard) and Catherine T. LeRoy. Loving friend of Dawn Lane and Richard Repetto.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10:00 to 10:30 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Interment St. Denis Cemetery.
