Robert H. Williams DDS of Newtown Square passed away on Friday, December 9 at home. He was 85. He is survived by his wife Marge, 2 sons (Robert Jr. and John and his wife Casandra Murphy), a daughter (Sara and her husband Tom Koester), 3 granddaughters (Madeleine Williams-Koester, Kaitlyn Williams-Koester, and Keira Williams), a brother Donald, and a sister Linda Hock-Long.
After studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, Bob earned a degree in Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1963. During this time, he met his wife at a dance and fondly recalled dancing on their first date. They married in 1962. From 1963 to 1965, he studied orthodontics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He fulfilled his military obligation by serving in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968. He practiced orthodontics in Paoli from 1968 until 2011.
Bob had a deep faith in the Lord from which he radiated generosity and kindness to others. He was always ready for a walk, a game of bridge, a show, watching an Eagles or Phillies game, and reading about world events. He also loved activities with his granddaughters: Philadelphia Orchestra, Peoples Light and Theatre, Walnut Street Theatre, and vacations in Bar Harbor. Additional activities included Irish and Scottish dancing with his wife, cooking healthy meals, and working out. Wherever he went he loved to drive.
Arrangements have been made by The Donohue Funeral Home in Wayne. Online condolences can be made to Bob's wife.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity for preserving the environment. Cremation and burial are at the convenience of his family.
