Robert Wright

May 20, 1928 — January 4, 2014

Robert C. Wright, age 85, of Newtown Square, PA, formerly of Falls Church, VA, passed away on January 4, 2014. Born in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Clyde and Pearl Wright (nee Enterline). He received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland. He was employed in the aerocraft industry for 42 years, 40 of those years with Raytheon E-Systems in Merrifield, Virginia as a Mechanical Engineer. He retired in 1997.



Mr. Wright had a lifetime interest in airplanes. He was a Colonel in the National Capitol Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force and a member of Loudon County, Virginia Aeromodelers.



Mr. Wright was also an active member of the following churches

Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Truro Church, The Falls Church and a founding member of both Holy Spirit and Restoration Anglican Church, all in Northern Virginia.



For many years, Mr. Wright was an active member of mission trips both in and outside of the United States. He kept in close contact with the missionaries that his churches supported, encouraging and sending birthday cards to these missionaries for many years.



Mr. Wright is survived by his wife Gail S. Wright, his children David Wright (Bonnie) of Gettysburg, PA, Daryl Wright (Elaine) of Vienna, VA and Marcia Yeskoo (Dave) of Richmond, VA, 13 grandchildren, his brothers Bill Wright and Carroll Wright (Jane) and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.



Relatives and friends were invited to his Memorial Service Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 1:30 PM First Baptist Church, 15 High Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740 with his burial to follow at Rest Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.



An additional Memorial Service was held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Little Falls Presbyterian Church, 6025 N. Little Falls Road, Arlington, VA. A reception followed the service.
