Robert Yates, age 93, of Lansdowne, PA, passed away on May 11, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret Yates (nee Chance).
Robert served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Ribbon, the American Theater Service Ribbon and the World War II Victory Ribbon.
He was employed as an Industrial Electrician with the Frankford Arsenal and the U.S. Navy Yard. He retired in 1980.
Robert was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth M. Yates (nee Finnegan). He is survived by his children Veronica McAlee (Thomas), Robert Jr. (Theresa), Paul W. (Michele) and Gary J. Yates, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Monday, May 18, 2015 9:00-9:50 AM St. Philomena Church, 41 E. Baltimore Avenue, Lansdowne, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
