Rosalyn DeMarchis

Rosalyn “Roz” (nee Ritto) DeMarchis, age 97, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away on August 17, 2019.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1922, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (nee Falcone) Ritto. Roz worked as the Head Hostess at the Crystal Tea Room and in the makeup and crystal department at Wanamaker’s. Later, she worked at Bally’s special chocolate shop and was the Supervisor Head Hostess at the New Yorker Room at Trump Plaza. Roz was very fashionable and she loved to sing, dance, and have fun. She was devoted to her family and was a wonderful mother.

Roz was the beloved wife of the late Ernest J. “Ernie” DeMarchis, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage; loving mother of Denise Mattei (Robert), Renee McGillian (Joe), and Ernest J. DeMarchis, II (Donna); adoring grandmother of Robert, Joseph, Alana, Andrew, E.J., and Danielle; dear sister of Marianne Abrams; predeceased by 4 siblings; also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 8:30-9:30 AM Saturday, August 24, 2019 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000 followed by her Funeral Mass 10 AM at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382. Entombment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
