Rose Anne (Gannon) Leonard

Rose Anne (Gannon) Leonard of Glen Mills, PA died September 11, 2024.

 Born in Mahanoy Plane, PA and raised in Girardville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Alice R. (Sheehan) Gannon. She attended St. Joseph’s School in Girardville for 10 years and graduated from Butler Township High School in Fountain Springs, PA in 1945. 

 Rose worked at A&P Tea Company Corporate offices in Philadelphia for 5 years, where she met the love of her life Robert J. Leonard, Sr., to whom she was married for 37 years until his death in 1986. Along with Rose’s love of reading, she also enjoyed reciting, reading and composing poetry. She retired from working at the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia after 17 years. In her later life, Rose enjoyed spending time with her loving family and playing canasta with her dear friends Betty, Carole and Barbara at Maris Grove Senior Living Facility. 

 Surviving are her 5 children Robert J., Jr., Nancy Sullivan (Brian), Patricia Leonard Dawson, Howard (Rusty) Leonard (Carolynn), and Joseph (Sharon), 14 Grandchildren, and 17 Great Grandchildren,

 Rose’s funeral will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Media, PA. Visitation 10:00 A.M. Mass 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 21, 2024.
