Rose T. McCabe

Rose T. McCabe, of Broomall, a dedicated and beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, at the age of 83.

 Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Rose (née Cordano) Thomas. 

For 45 years, Rose dedicated her professional life to the Hospital University of Pennsylvania as a histotechnician in the Pathology lab. Her commitment to her work was evident in her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering dedication to helping others. Rose's legacy continues through the many lives she impacted in her professional journey.

Beyond her professional life, Rose was a warm and nurturing individual who had a profound love for cooking and baking, often sharing her culinary delights with family and friends. She cherished her time spent with children, spreading joy and laughter wherever she went.

An avid sports fan, Rose held a special place in her heart for the Philadelphia Phillies and their lively mascot, the Phillie Phanatic. In addition to her love for sports, she enjoyed the company of her close-knit group of friends known as Sorority as well as Couples Club, she and her husband belonged to.

Rose was the beloved wife of John T. McCabe sharing 62 years of marriage together; the loving mother of Christopher McCabe (Kathleen) and David McCabe (Catherine). She was the caring and devoted grandmother of Megan and Sean.

Rose is also survived by her cousins, nieces and nephews and is predeceased by her sister, Katherine Thomas and her brother, Frederick Thomas.

Relatives and friends are invited to honor Rose’s life beginning with a Monday evening Viewing, February 24, 2025, 6:00 to 8:00 PM and a Tuesday morning Viewing, February 25, 2025, 9:00 to 10:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. The Funeral mass will be live streamed beginning at 10:00 AM. Mass can be viewed via St. Anastasia Church’s website link of: https://saintanastasia.net/mass-times  or St. Anastasia’s Facebook link of: https://www.facebook.com/saintanastasianewtownsquare/.  Interment to be held privately.
