Rosemary Stanton Kiely

Rosemary Stanton Kiely, age 83, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away suddenly on January 18, 2024. 

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary (nee Nugent) Stanton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert J. Kiely. Rosemary was the stepmother of Barbara K. Hager (Glen), and the devoted Nan of Jacob Hager and Jordan Hager. She is survived by her brothers, Br. Kevin Stanton and Michael Stanton (Anne), her sisters Kathleen Egan (Jack) and Judy Ahern (Walt) and many other cherished nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her grandson Baby Aiden Hager.

Rosemary was a graduate of West Catholic High School and was an active member of the St. Laurence Catholic Church, Upper Darby, PA. In her professional life, she was a legal secretary. She was also very active in Project Hope, Meals on Wheels, Pro Life Activities and the West Catholic Alumnae Association. 

She was lovingly known by many as “Ro Ro” or “Roe.” Rosemary will be remembered for her kind heart, her ability to uplift others, and her dedication to her family. She was a true encourager and friend, always ready to lend a helping hand. Her servant’s heart extended to her closest friends, for whom she held a deep and special bond. She was a loving and kind soul who will be missed dearly. 

Rosemary cherished her family and friends and treasured time together. She enjoyed cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies and all Philadelphia sports teams. As her family’s biggest cheerleader, she offered her unwavering support as they pursued their passions and interests. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and overwhelming love and generosity.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, Friday, January 26, 2024 from 9:30-10:45 AM at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment immediately following at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
