Rosemary Lynch

July 8, 1919 — September 2, 2014

Rosemary Flynn Lynch, former writer and editor of the Suburban & Wayne Times, died peacefully at her home in Chesterbrook, PA, Tuesday morning, September 2, 2014. She was the widow of W.N. Lynch, Jr., former President of the Keystone Drawn Steel Co.



Born in Buffalo, NY, and known from childhood as "Babe," she was graduated from Trinity College in Washington, DC, with a major in history and political science. After a stint at the Park School of Buffalo as a business teacher and tutor, Mrs. Lynch spent time in the women's department of the Buffalo Courier Express before an assignment in 1945 with the Veterans Administration took her to Bath, NY, to help assimilate veterans in the hospital there.



In 1980, she and her retired husband and three dogs moved to Crescent Beach, Ontario, Canada, for six years to live in the house her father purchased in 1920 and which she owned, during which time Mrs. Lynch published a book Crescent Beach

A Celebration a collection of stories from residents who spent their summers there as far back as the1930's.



In the 1980's and 90's, Mrs. Lynch wrote the newsletters for CAB-TV, St. Isaac Jogues Church, the Valley Forge Chapter of Republican Women, Surrey Services and others. An avid sports fan, Mrs. Lynch loved Villanova basketball, the Eagles, rarely missed a Phillies broadcast and could tell you the starting lineup of the 1933 Buffalo Bisons.



She was predeceased by her daughter, Anna H. Lynch. She is survived by six children W.N. III (Mercy), Rosie, Brian, Michael (Sheila), Philip (Carolyn), Kevin (Betsy); eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 50 W. Walker Rd. Wayne with the family welcoming guests from 9:00 to 10:20 AM and the service at 10:30. Interment Calvary Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent in Mrs. Lynch's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
