Ruth H. Dessender

Ruth H. Dessender, 96, of Aldan, PA passed away on December 5, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Jacques C. Dessender and daughter of the late J. George and Henrietta (nee Tetgmeyer) Binder. Ruth is also predeceased by her daughter, Carol Ann.

Ruth received her registered nurse degree from Hahneman Hospital.

She was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II.

Ruth was a volunteer at Lankenau Hospital for 15 + years and was treasurer of Ladies Aid Society of Lankenau Hospital. She was also on the Womens Board for the hospital. Ruth was a member of Chapel of the 4 Chaplins and Montgomery RSVP. She was also a member of the Upper Darby Alumni Assoc and was the reservation chairman for the Class of 44 reunions. She belonged to the African Violet Society of Delaware County. Ruth enjoyed Square Dancing and loved dogs. She always had one by her side. What Ruth loved the most though was spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Janet Lynn McGuire (Roy), her grandchildren Sean and Heather McGuire and her great-grandchildren Colin McGuire & Lucy Cassel.

Family and friends are invited to her Visitation on December 12^th from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at The Knoetgen-Donohue Funeral Home followed by her 11:00 AM Funeral Service. Int: Glenwood Memorial Gardens
