Ruth Loughran

Ruth E. Loughran (nee Lederman), age 85, of Oxford, PA, passed away on April 15, 2020.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Rachel Lederman (nee Everetts).

Ruth was a former 50 year resident of Upper Darby, PA. She relocated to Arizona, returned to Upper Darby, and eventually resided in Oxford, PA before becoming a resident of the Pocopson Home in Chester County. She was a caretaker for the elderly and a genuinely kind and loving person.

She was self-employed as a housecleaner, retired from the Philadelphia Bubble Gum Factory in Havertown, PA, and worked in Product Control for Giant Food Stores before moving to Arizona.

She loved all things western related, movies, music, horses and all types of memorabilia.  Ruth was also a big dog lover.   She had a way with them and was an excellent trainer.   Over the years, she raised Freckles, Snoopy, Lucky and Jake (who are now deceased) and has one remaining dog, named Babe, who will be raised by Margaret, Jake and Ruth's goddaughter, Emily.   .

Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband, John T. “Jack” Loughran, her brother, Jimmy Lederman and her stepson, David Loughran. She is survived by her two grandchildren Kirk (Melissa) and Brian Phillips, her stepson Doc Loughran (Kim) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, services and interment will be private.
