Ruth Mahon

Ruth L. Mahon (nee Brangan), age 73, of Havertown, PA, passed away on August 29, 2018 with her daughter, Jaclyn, by her side, after a long illness.

Born in New Jersey, Ruth was the daughter of the late Robert and Emily Brangan (nee Drake).



Ruth had a love of learning. In 1963, she graduated from Marple Newtown High School. Ruth then went on to study nursing at Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing and Bryn Mawr OR Tech School. She worked at Bryn Mawr Hospital and Delaware County Memorial Hospital in the OR and ER. She ended her career working for Dr. Michael Mooreville, in Lansdowne, where she worked for over 30 years.

In 2002, Ruth received a degree in Para-Accounting. In 2004, she graduated from the PJA School summa cum laude with a Legal/Accounting Paraprofessional degree.

Ruth had been active in politics, being a local Poll watcher at Llanerch Hill Chapel for many years. Her favorite places to visit were Sea Isle City, NJ and Ocean City, NJ. She enjoyed reading her books on the beach. James Patterson was her favorite author. Walt Disney World was one of her favorite places as well. Ruth was an active mother, never missing a game or event her children were a part of. She was a huge fan.

She liked to show her love to friends by making homemade Christmas cookies for Christmas and crocheting baby blankets for loved ones having kids. Ruth loved attending her yearly Christmas dinners with her friends at Picas.



Ruth will be remembered as a loving, caring woman who always put others needs ahead of her own.

She was sharp, funny and feisty.

Her amazingly big and bright smile will never be forgotten.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Jaclyn and Jamie Mahon, and her grandson, Fredrick Whitlock, Jr. (Jamie's Son).

Services and interment are private.
