Salvino James Marra Jr.

Salvino J. Marra Jr. “Jim”, age 60, of Clifton Heights, Pa, passed away on July 24, 2024 after a very short battle with cancer. Born in Ridley Park, he was the beloved son of Marcella (nee Hill) and the late Salvino J. Marra Sr.

He was a self-employed carpenter, framing many custom homes in the Delaware & Chester County areas. In 2009, he began his career at Amtrak as a B&B Mechanic and moved into the position of B&B Foreman. Jim demonstrated a tireless work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Beyond the realm of work, Jim's interests were truly diverse. He was a member of BMWED Local Lodge 3039, serving as Local Chairman and most recently voted into the role of Secretary/Treasurer. He had a love for music and an extensive album collection. He also enjoyed traveling, comedy shows, and concerts.

A true sports enthusiast, he was an avid fan of all Philadelphia sports teams, particularly the Wings and Eagles. His passion for lacrosse extended back to his high school and college days. He continued to play and coach lacrosse in various Men’s Leagues, along with officiating middle/high school games. Jim spent over 25 years coaching, with most of those years as a Youth Lacrosse coach.

He took tremendous pride in his children and their successes in life. He attended all of their games, swim meets, dance recitals and cheer competitions. From their toddler years through college, he could be found in the stands or on the sidelines. Jim’s new favorite role was “Pop Pop” and his presence will be deeply missed.

Jim is survived by his children, Samantha (Cody) Hendrick, Andrea (Courtney) Marra, and Vince (Kate) Marra; the mother of his children, Terry Marra; adoring grandfather to Kennedy, plus “Baby Marra” due in October; and brother of Beth Marra. Also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to Jim’s Visitation 9:30-11:00 AM on Friday, August 2nd at The Knoetgen Donohue Funeral Home, 746 Kedron Ave, Morton, PA 19070, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim’s name to Springfield Athletic Association Lacrosse Program, PO Box 168, Springfield, PA 19064, saadelco.org, would be appreciated.
