Samuel J. "Sam" Long, Jr.

Samuel J. “Sam” Long, Jr., age 79, of Havertown, PA, passed away on April 4, 2022.   Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel J. Long, Sr. and Frances C. Long (nee Zapp).

Sam had been employed as a Millwright for General Electric.   He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. 

Sam loved fishing and swimming.   He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 667 in Manoa, PA.  

Sam is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Long (nee Brennan).  He was the loving father of Patricia M. Egan (Kevin), Jennifer R. Youngblood (Erik) and Catherine A. Oberholtzer (Brent).  Also survived by his dear grandchildren Faegan Long, Beth Egan, Kevin Egan, Molly Egan, Riley Oberholtzer, Connor Oberholtzer, Lyla Oberholtzer, Clara Youngblood and Rory Youngblood.   Brother of  Loretta Long and the late Ellen Long-Feustel (the late Bill).

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Friday, April 8, 2022 9:30-10:55 AM at St. Denis Church, 2401 St. Denis Lane, Havertown, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be private.
