Scott Hastings Miller, founder of a successful marketing communications firm, talented graphic designer, avid golfer, marathon runner, rower, and passionate carver of fish lures died on April 21, surrounded by his close family. He was 74.
Scott grew up in Lakeville, Connecticut and spent summers at the beach in Quonochontaug, RI, his lifetime favorite place to be. He attended the Salisbury School and earned a BFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). After graduation, he and his wife, Veronica, moved to Philadelphia where he was employed at Architecture/Design firm Murphy Levy Wurman.
In 1978, Scott founded Sanchez Design Partnership, a marketing communications firm, with Alicia McGinley, creating successful branding and publications for numerous local and national clients.
Beloved son of the late Arthur W. and Carol (nee Frilen) Miller, Scott is survived by his wife, Veronica (nee Hoch); daughters Nicola Miller (husband Tom Brasberger) and Lexi Miller (husband Don Whitlatch); and grandchildren, Henry, Margaux, and Nico.
A longtime resident of Haverford, Scott was active in the Haverford Civic Association and was a member of Gulph Mills Golf Club and the University Barge Club.
Services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Scott’s name to the Rhode Island Salt Pond Coalition (https://saltpondscoalition.org/), to preserve the Quonochontaug ecosystem.
