Shawn Schmidt

Shawn E. Schmidt, age 44, of Malvern, PA, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2017.

Shawn was the dear son of John and Jacque (nee Billman) Schmidt. He was raised in Pottstown, PA. He was a 1991 graduate of Pottstown High School, where he excelled on the wrestling and football teams.

Shawn has worked at The Vanguard Group for the past twenty years, most recently as a Project Administrator. Outside of work, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and kayaking. He also delighted in playing the guitar. He was a member of the Huxley Gun Club, Inc. and a Social Member of the Valley Forge Fire Company.

Shawn was the beloved husband of Rosie (nee Doherty) Schmidt, the loving father of Charlie Schmidt, and the cherished brother of Shane Schmidt (Heather). He is also survived by his grandmother Pearl Schmidt, his Aunt Kathy Schmidt, his niece Eleanor, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives, friends and co-workers are invited to his Visitation, Friday evening, November 24, 2017, 6 - 9 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073,610-353-6300. His Funeral Service will take place Saturday morning, November 25, 2017, 11 AM, at Valley Forge Baptist Church, 1701 Valley Forge Road (Route 23), Valley Forge, PA 19481. Internment to follow service at Valley Forge Baptist Church Cemetery, Valley Forge, PA.
