Sheila Gaffney

Sheila M. Gaffney (nee McAuliffe) 70, of Wayne, PA passed away on February 22, 2016, following a long illness.
Born in Greenwich, CT, and raised in Stamford, CT, Sheila was the daughter of the late Patrick F. and Frances (Murphy) McAuliffe. Frances passed away when Sheila was an infant and her father, Patrick married Jeanne Hewitt, who was a loving, devoted mother to Sheila.
She attended St. John's Catholic Elementary School and Stamford Catholic High School. She graduated, with a degree in Dental Hygeine, from the University of Bridgeport, CT, where she met the love of her life, Paul W. Gaffney, whom she married in 1967.
Together they had 4 children while working first as a dental hygienist and then as the business manager of their 40 year old private practice King of Prussia Physical Therapy & Sports Injury Center.
Sheila enthusiastically volunteered many hours in all of her children's schools that include Mother of Divine Providence School, St. Monica School, Villa Maria Academy and Malvern Preparatory School.
In any spare time, Sheila loved to read, attend sports, music, and theatre performances, and most of all travel the world with her husband and all four children.
In most recent years, Sheila's 12 grandchildren brought her much joy and happiness. They will dearly miss their beloved She-She.
Sheila was a dedicated wife and compassionate mother who lived every single day with grace and dignity.
Sheila was the beloved wife of Paul W. Gaffney; loving mother of Kara M. Gallagher (Sean) of Wayne, PA, Maura E. Nash (Michael) of Phoenixville, PA, Paul P. Gaffney (Christina) of Wallingford, PA, and Elise J. Gaffney of Wayne, PA; loving grandmother of Ceila, Frances, Alice, Jack, Keegan, Nuala, Keira, Cayla, Shaelie, Mariah, Caitlin and Elizabeth; dear sister of Jeanne Ormond (Jeremiah), Mark McAuliffe (Diane) and the late Patrick McAuliffe (Lenore). Also survived by sister-in-law Jean Ortleb (Denis).
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:00-10:20 AM Saturday, February 27, 2016 at St. Katharine of Sienna Church, 104 Aberdeen Ave, Wayne, PA 19087, followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
