Sr. Bernadette Mary Gaynor, S. H. C. J., formerly Mother Bernadette Mary, age 82, passed away on May 27, 2013 at the Holy Child Center in Rosemont, PA. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Sister was the daughter of the late Francis P. and Helen Marie Gaynor (nee Tague). Sister was a graduate of John W. Hallahan High School. She received her B.S. degree in Education from Fordham University in New York and her Master's degree from Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH. She studied at the University of Madrid in Spain and Iberoamericane in Mexico City. Sister taught Spanish in various locations throughout the United States.



She is survived by her cousins Martin (Rose) Washart and Jack Gaynor as well as many additional family members. She was predeceased by her cousin Anthony (Frances) Tague.



Religious, relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass Friday, May 31, 2013 11:00 AM New Sharon Chapel, 1341 Montgomery Avenue, Rosemont, PA where friends may call in Chapel after 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA. A Wake Service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 4:00 PM in Chapel.
