Sr. Mary Jane Hicks, S.H.C.J., age 85, of Rosemont, PA, passed away on February 24, 2017. Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Herbert J. and Isabel Hicks (nee Doyle).
Sister received her Bachelor's Degree in History from Barat College in 1961 and her Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Notre Dame University in 1967. Sister spent 62 years in Religion.
Sister is survived by her siblings Sr. Frances Hicks, OSF, Carol (Robert) Ruehl and Laurence J. (Judy) Hicks, her nieces and nephews Brian, David (Val) and Gerise Ruehl, Patrick (Sera) Hicks and Colleen Hicks (Jeff) Peyton and her grandnieces and nephews Samantha, Alyssa, Justin Ruehl and Eleanor and Beatrice Peyton.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Tuesday, February 28, 2017 10:00 AM-11:00 AM New Sharon Chapel, 1341 Montgomery Avenue, Rosemont, PA and to her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
A Wake Service for Sister will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 4:00 PM in New Sharon Chapel at the above address.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sisters's memory to the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, 1341 Montgomery Avenue, Rosemont, PA 19010 would be appreciated.
