Stephen Smith

Stephen S. Smith, 80, of Landsdowne, PA, formerly of Drexel Hill, PA passed away May 20, 2020 of complications stemming from COVID-19.

Born April 23, 1940 in Upper Darby, PA, he was a son of the late Stephen and Rose (nee Carlin) Smith. He served honorably in the U.S. Army.

Known to friends, family and colleagues as Steve, he was a devoted husband, dedicated father and proud Pop-Pop.  He was born and raised in Delaware County where raised his family and built lifelong friendships.  He was a valued resource to those in Delaware County real estate for over 50 years.  Most recently he was a member of Carr Real Estate, on Long Lane in Upper Darby, which was source of great joy and immense pride.

Like all good native sons of Philadelphia, he was big fan of the Eagles and the Phillies, and a life-long devotee of Avalon beaches.

Stephen was the beloved husband of the late Jo-Ann (nee Faulkner) Smith; loving father of Mary Beth Smith (Edward Morris), Stefanie Smith, and Andrew Smith (Jaclyn Wright); proud brother to Pat Ewing: and adoring grandfather of Carlin Morris, Maggie Morris, Daniel Smith-O'Donell, and Phoebe Smith-O'Donell.

Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of his late wife Jo-Ann.
