Susan M. Di Giacomo (nee Lessing ) of Newtown Square, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by many loving family members after a valiant battle with complications of multiple myeloma on Monday, November 16, 2015. Age 61 years. Formerly of Wynnewood, PA.
Sue was a graduate of Haverford High School and Delaware County Community College, and was a medical assistant for many years.
Wonderful daughter of Mary Lessing Peterson (Wynnewood) and the late Robert H. Lessing. The beloved wife of Alfonse DiGiacomo, Sr. Loving mother of Lauren (William) Christie of Drexel Hill, Ian Templeton of Philadelphia and Andrew Templeton of Newtown Square, and stepmother of Alfonse (Christina) DiGiacomo, Jr. of Sadsburyville. Devoted grandmother (Mimi) to Amelia Christie, Andrew and Ryan Templeton, and Alfonse DiGiacomo, III. Cherished sister to Mona Lessing Harroch (Richard) of San Francisco, and Connie (Leonard) Denisewicz of Wynnewood. Predeceased by her brother Robert A. Lessing. Adored Aunt to Sierra Lessing McMonagle (James), Alexander and Leslie Harroch, Amy (Ryan) Delargey and Thomas Denisewicz. Also survived by four great nieces and nephews, aunts, and many cousins.
Sue was universally loved by all her family and friends for her great warmth, her kind, sweet and generous nature, her humor and hilarious expressions, and for her incredible sense of style. She will be missed beyond description by all those fortunate enough to know and love her.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 9:00-10:00 AM at Presentation BVM Church, 240 Haverford Road, Wynnewood, PA. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Sue's life will immediately follow at 10:00 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
