Susan M. Gould

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Susan M. “Sue” Gould, 79, of Malvern, PA, on April 17, 2024. She was the daughter of the late James and Mary Sullivan (nee Flynn). Sue was also predeceased by her sister Ellen Peterson and her brother Dennis Sullivan. Sue is survived by her loving children Christopher Gould (Allison), Erin Shea (Dennis), and Sarah Mears (Brian), and her wonderful grandchildren Dennis, Patrick, Brady, Eliza, Owen, Matthew, Turner, and Riley.

Sue grew up in Belmont, Massachusetts. She attended Belmont High School and Lasalle Junior College. Sue met the love of her life, Bob, in 1964 and married him at the age of 19. They built a wonderful life over the course of their marriage. They cherished their time together with family and friends. They spent the majority of their marriage living in West Chester, PA. Sue will join Bob in heaven to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary together this May.

If you knew Sue, you would remember her bright, beautiful smile. Her favorite thing was to make any occasion into a special celebration. She loved to entertain and make others feel special. She was a great cook and loved to garden. She always took an interest in others and put a positive perspective on any situation. She cherished life, was grateful for all she had, and looked to shine her light on every situation.

She was a Philadelphia Sports Fan and loved her Eagles and Phillies. The time she spent with her family and friends was most important to her. She was fortunate to have many wonderful long-standing friendships but never hesitated to make new ones. She was very proud of her three children and absolutely adored her grandchildren, whom she referred to as her Great Eight. She was a devoted wife and mother. All who knew and loved her will miss her bright and warm presence.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Monday, May 13th, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at SS Simon & Jude Catholic Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct. West Chester, PA 19382, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM. Private Interment St. Agnes Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in memory of Sue Gould (directed to ICU comfort care unit)

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered support and condolences during this difficult time. Sue’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.  May she rest in eternal peace.
