Teresa Joan (nee Glowinski) Hoffman, 68, of Newtown Square, PA passed away on May 11, 2024.
Born October 8, 1955 in Morecambe, England, she was a daughter of Joan (nee Barker) Glowinski and the late Antoni Glowinski.
A 1973 graduate of Pittston Area High School in northeast PA, Teresa went on to pursue an advanced nursing degree and graduated from Gwynedd Mercy University. She worked numerous positions as a staff nurse early in her career, then transitioned her skills and worked for Independence Blue Cross of Philadelphia for over two decades.
Teresa was truly a loving, generous, and kind person. Her fun loving personality was infectious. She was intelligent and quick witted. With her deadpan humor she often had her family dissolving into tears of laughter.
As so eloquently described by her stepson, Teresa and her late husband “revolved around each other like binary stars, an unyielding attraction keeping each other close and on the right path”.
As a daughter she was simply priceless. As a sister, she was the linchpin, the middle-sister, and her absence is painful and will be forever felt. As a step-mother and step-grand mother, she was affectionately known as “NuNu”, loving each child as her own. An avid animal lover, her devotion to her dogs and all things Welsh Corgi surpassed even that of the late Queen of England.
Teresa found joy in many things, whether it was planting spring flowers, visiting an art exhibition or museum, or attending the theater or an opera. An avid explorer, Teresa and her late husband traveled the world. From the four corners of the United States, to many of the National Parks in between, her love of hiking and golf only furthered her desire to explore the world. Her passport was overflowing with numerous stamps from countries throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Cruising on various Viking vessels, as well as on the QE2, were some of her favorites.
Regardless of where she lived, Teresa became part of her local community. Her calendar was often filled with local volunteer and social activities. She was a member of a multiple Book Clubs. Mah Jongg, Bible Club, pickleball or ladies golf gatherings rounded out her busy schedule. Teresa touched, and was touched, by the lives of countless people. She enjoyed her friends and neighbors in her local Liseter community. The people in the Kayenta community in Ivins UT and those in Old Towne Alexandria VA always held a special place in her heart.
Teresa was the beloved wife of the late Edward “Ted” Hoffman; loving step-mother of Edward J. Hoffman (Whitney) and Allison Murray (Louis); devoted step-grandmother of Finley Hoffman, Harper Hoffman, Lowell Hoffman, Sadie Murray and Lucy Murray; a dear sister of Monica Fitzgerald and Sharon Chisholm (Don).
Services and interment will be held privately. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests the “Gift of Life” (blood donations) be made to the American Red Cross. Monetary donations may be made to any animal rescue or shelter of your choice.
