Teresa "Terri" O'Neill
1950-2016
O'Neill, Teresa age 66, of West Chester, Pennsylvania and Bonita Springs, Florida passed away on November 5, 2016 at Lankenau Hospital from breast cancer.
Born in Collingdale, PA, Terri was the daughter of the late Catherine and Paul Ruane and the daughter-in law of the late Mary and John O'Neill.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Bernard A. O'Neill; her adoring children Colleen T. Hoffman (James) of Ardmore and Shannon B. Birdsall (Michael) of West Chester; her cherished grandchildren Emma Hoffman, Ava Birdsall, James Hoffman, Sadie Birdsall, Michael Birdsall and William Hoffman; her siblings, Eileen Brennen, Marian McGee (Dennis), Paul Ruane (Johanna Kipping-Ruane), and Kathleen Judge (William).
She was a graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School class of 1968. Terri was a homemaker while her children were young and later enjoyed many years as a pre-school teacher most recently at Our Lady of the Assumption School in Wayne, PA before retiring in 1999.
Terri loved traveling the world with her husband. Her most memorable travel experience was her pilgrimage to Jerusalem. She also loved spending her winters in the Spring Run Golf Community in Bonita Springs Florida. Terri's greatest joy over the past 13 years was the precious time she shared with her adoring grandchildren.
For the past 15 years, Terri was an original founding member of the Jeanne Jugan Lay Associates (AJJ), Little Sisters of the Poor, Holy Family Home. She was also an active member in the SS Simon and Jude parish community. Before her illness, Terri was a sidewalk counselor for the Pro-Life movement.
Family and friends are invited to her Visitation 6:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at SS Simon and Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct, West Chester, PA 19382, and 10:00-10:45 a.m. Friday, November 11 followed by her Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Internment will be SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Terri's memory may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, Holy Family Home, 5300 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143.
