Theodore George Alteneder, Jr., 93, passed away on February 28, 2017.
Born in Cheltenham, PA in 1923, he was the son of the late Theodore George Alteneder, Sr. and Ethel Louis (Brooks) Alteneder
He was formerly of Hatboro, PA, where he raised his family.
He attended Friends' Central School through 8th grade, was a graduate of Westtown School in 1941 and a 1951 graduate of Lehigh University where he earned a degree in Metalurgical Engineering.
Theodore served honorably in the US Army during World War II.
President of Theodore Alteneder and Sons, Makers of Fine Drawing and Drafting Instruments in Philadelphia since 1850.
Past member of Philadelphia Canoe Club, American Canoe Association, United States Olympic Committee Board of Directors, Engineers Club of Philadelphia, Willow Grove Lions Club, United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Newtown Square Friends Meeting.
He was the loving husband of the late Virginia Jean (Welch) Alteneder; loving father of David T. Alteneder of Ambler, PA and J. Susan Siwarski (Edwin) of West Chester, PA; step-father of James Joseph McGrane (Kay) and Francis T. McGrane (Nancy); loving grandfather of Theodore Charles Alteneder (Stephanie), Edwin J Siwarski, III, James J. Siwarski, Jeffrey J. McGrane and Jennifer M. Wolfe; and great-grandfather of Lorelei Alteneder, Jacob Y. Wolfe and Jared O. Wolfe.
