Theresa “Terri” Gibson (nee Brennan), age 71, of Pottstown, PA, formerly of Morton, PA, passed away on February 10, 2025. Born in Chester PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen Brennan (nee Bednar). Terri grew up and spent the majority of her life in Delaware County, though her journey also took her to Maryland and her last twenty-three years in Pottstown, PA.
Terri was a beacon of light to all who knew her, characterized by her selfless nature, radiant smile, and charismatic presence. As a storyteller, she captivated those around her, weaving narratives that were thoughtful and poignant. Her organization and calculated approach to life reflected her deep care for others, always considering their needs before her own. Terri's caring personality made her not only a loving wife and mother but also an adored grandmother, who found immeasurable joy in the laughter and happiness of her grandchildren.
Her educational journey began at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Elementary School, and she later graduated from Cardinal O'Hara High School, shaping the character of a truly warm soul. Professionally, Terri, unashamedly, took pride in being a Home Maker and a “Stay at Home Mom”. And she was incredible at both, and her husband and three children benefitted from her untiring efforts. After her youngest child started school she decided to start a career in retail; working part time at The Gap, and more recently, she lent her talents to Eddie Bauer at the Outlets in Limerick, PA. Her work was marked by the same warmth and dedication she so readily shared with her family and friends.
An active member of her community, Terri attended St Thomas More Catholic Church in Pottstown, PA. An avid practitioner of faith, she found solace in prayer, praying the rosary and invoking special intentions, demonstrating a spirit that was entirely devoted to the well-being of others. Her prayers were often answered; most recently when her Eagles won Sunday night. Her hobbies flourished around her love of fashion, the wonder of weather patterns, (if you wanted to know what weather to expect all you needed to do was just ask Terri). Terri loved nature and would spend countless hours working in the yard, planting and growing plants and flowers. She also took great joy in watching and feeding the wild birds. (The male cardinal was her favorite.) She also loved it when the deer would come up almost within arm’s reach to accept the corn she was tossing out. Of course, she was quick to scold them when they dared eat any of her flowers.
Terri and her husband Edmond were married for over 53 years. Which is especially impressive considering she was seventeen and still in High School when they married. She excelled as a wife and mother. She often gave credit to her Mother for providing an excellent blue print. Her Mom raised ten children. Terri was number seven and got some early practice babysitting her younger sisters. She learned how to cook, bake and sew at an early age and became excellent at all three. Her Red Earth Cake and Maccaroni and Cheese were two of her specialties.
Terri excelled at bringing people together, hosting family gatherings enriched with the flavors of her beloved cooking and baking. Her love for travel deepened her understanding of the world and inspired her long-lasting connections with those she encountered. Yet, it was in her selflessness that she became the nucleus of her family, a boundless source of love, warmth, and support. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we are left in awe of her legacy — a void has been created in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her, but her spirit shall remain forever cherished in our memories. May her beautiful soul rest in peace.
Terri was the beloved wife of Edmond J. Gibson; loving mother of Terryanne Casagrande (John), Edmond J. Gibson, Jr. (Maureen), and Andrew Robert Gibson (Stacey); adoring grandmother of Bryn, Grace, Ethan, Elijah, Samuel, and Gabe; caring sister of Robert (Eileen), Tom, Marie, Steve (Diane), James (Cora), Patricia (Gary), Christine, and Helen (Lou). She is preceded in death by her brother Danny, and brothers-in-law, Louis Peticca and Bernard DiMauro.
Family and friends are invited to Terri’s Visitation 10:00-11:30 AM on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2130 Franklin Ave, Morton, PA 19070, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment Private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Terri’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105, stjude.org, would be appreciated.
