Thomas A. Falgiatore, 79, of Westtown and formerly of Yeadon, PA passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on October 5, 2017.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1938, he was the son of the late Thomas and Jennie (Cancelli) Falgiatore.
Thomas was the loving husband of the late Lolita (Masinton) Falgiatore and also of the late Jeanne M. (Marshall) Falgiatore; loving father of Lisa Carroll (John), Jennifer Bogia (Stephen), Thomas (Diana), Anthony (Melissa), Margaret Dougherty (Patrick), Patience Moninghoff (Wayne), Jack DeOrio (Deborah) and the late Thomas DeOrio; devoted grandfather of 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings; Carmella, Minnie, Rita, Dolores, Mary, Teresa and Anthony.
Tom was a graduate of Yeadon High School (1956) and entered the United States Marine Corp upon his graduation. He was also a 1969 graduate of St. Joe's University where his children watched him graduate. Tom then began his sales career with National Gypsum where he continued until his retirement. He was a member of St. Simon and Jude Church where he spent countless hours volunteering as a coach, athletic director, and other roles, which continued even after his children graduated.
Tom's main enjoyment was traveling the world and the time he spent in Stone Harbor, NJ in his childhood home. He spent every summer there including this past summer. He shared his love of Stone Harbor with his children, grandchidren, and great-children, which has resulted in their mutual love of Stone Harbor. He was a proud member of the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor and the Marine Corp League.
He will be best remembered for his generous spirit, big personality, being the life of the party and the last one to leave, and enjoying and celebrating life at every moment.
