Thomas F. Hannan, 78 of West Chester, PA passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2024 of an acute aortic dissection.
He was born on March 26, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Thomas Francis Hannan and Elizabeth Reilly Hannan.
Tom graduated from Camden Catholic in 1964 and St. Joseph’s University in 1968. After a short stint teaching at Waldren Academy, he spent his professional time in Insurance Sales & Management making many lifelong connections and friends throughout his years.
Outside of his professions, Tom truly loved life, the adventures he had, the people he met, and the memories he made. His passions included coaching, sailing, traveling, history, Philadelphia Sports, and storytelling... on occasion, with a Manhattan. More than anything, he loved his wife Barbara and being surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Hannan who was the love of his life and companion on all his worldly adventures; his younger brother Larry Hannan and his wife Betty Hannan; his daughter Rachel Breen & her husband Michael Breen; his first son Kevin Hannan and his future wife Sarah Snedden; his youngest son Timothy Hannan; and finally his 3 grandchildren Cullen Breen, Dylan Breen, and Ella Sheehan Hannan.
Tom will always be remembered for his genuine spirit, kindness, patience, goodwill, reliability and unwavering love for his family. He was a man of character who left an everlasting impact on all who knew him. He will be truly missed and remain in our hearts, forever.
Relatives and friends are invited to Thomas' Visitation 9:00-11:00 AM Thursday, April 25, 2024 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 E. Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation, https://oif.org/, or to Wills Eye Hospital, https://www.willseye.org/, would be appreciated.
