Thomas J. "Bud" Lannon, age 97, passed away peacefully on April 13th in Wayne PA. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he graduated from West Catholic High School in 1936.
Mr. Lannon resided for many years in Beach Haven, NJ and later, Stroudsburg, PA with his late beloved wife, Georgiana Romig, a composer and concert pianist. He was the last surviving sibling of the Lannon family: Catherine M. Gallagher, Helen L. Martin, Marie V. Lannon and Frank J. Lannon. He is survived by seven nieces and nephews, their spouses and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews, who loved him and will miss him dearly.
He was the owner of Lannon's Picture Framing, a well-known and respected establishment for custom picture framing, which he founded in 1952 in Bryn Mawr. He specialized in the repair and restoration of paintings and mirrors. An accomplished landscape artist, Mr. Lannon exhibited his works in local venues.
After his retirement to the Poconos, Mr. Lannon developed a new business restoring and leather-binding antique and rare books for dealers and collectors. He also taught picture framing at an evening school program. He was an avid reader and loved gardening and fishing. He will be remembered by his family and caretakers for his gentle nature, his wonderful sense of humor, and especially his beautiful tenor voice.
Interment is private. A celebration of his life will be held for family members.
