Thomas J. Smith was born in Philadelphia on May 21, 1921 and died at Highgate at Paoli Pointe on August 14, 2014. Devoted son of the late Howard B. and Kathryn M. Smith (nee Walsh). Tom was a graduate of West Catholic Boys' High School and served with the Eighth Armored Division of the U.S. Army, 36th Tank Battalion during World War II. Tom worked for forty years as a USPS letter carrier. He was a daily communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Havertown, and a 50 year retreatant with the Men of Malvern. Tom was a loving brother to James A. (Bridget) Smith of Westtown, PA, Patricia J. Smith of Havertown, PA and the late Howard B. Smith, Margaret M. Woodward, Mary H. Dunleavy and Edna L. McKeon. To his seventeen nieces and nephews, Tom was a beloved uncle.
