Thomas Russel Vineis, Sr.

Thomas Russel Vineis Sr., age 60, of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully on November 23, 2023 surrounded by his family.

He was born in Quakertown, PA. He was raised by Carole and J. Ronald Vineis. Son of late biological mother Janet Lehn. 

He is survived by his former wife, Wendy Mulreaney and their children Thomas Vineis Jr (Kristina), Robert Vineis (Meghan), and Bianca Vineis; grandchildren, Rowan Vineis and Thomas Vineis III.  He was the loving brother of Susan Matyas (Mark), Cynthia Vineis (Charles), Mark Vineis (Carey), Gwynn McGroggan, Sherri Cirignano (Nicholas Jr) and Heather Burch (Mark). Preceded in death by father, J. Ronald Vineis, brother, Joseph Vineis Jr, uncle, Russell Stokes Lehn, and niece Jodi Vineis. 

Tom had a true zest for life, adventures, family, and his ancestry. He participated in Washington Crossing the Delaware reenactments in honor of his ancestors that served in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Korean War. He loved his motorcycle, "Raven". He was an avid outdoorsman, a keen hunter, fisherman, and hiker. He lettered three years at C.B. West in football, wrestling, and track and field. He was a proud recipient of the Axe-Master Award in 1979, Moose Award and Special Teams Award in 1980, and Master of Sports award in 1981. The football team won the state football title in 1980. Tom was also the All Bux-mont wrestling sectional champion in 1981 the year he graduated. Tom went on to be the team captain of both the wrestling and football team at Perkiomen Prep School in 1982. 

Tom spent 38 years in the automotive service equipment industry. He passed along his skills and trade to his son as they worked alongside one another for Liberty Lubrication Equipment, LLC. Tom was a devoted entrepreneur, father, Opa, and man of God. His infectious laughter, positive attitude, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Services will be held for friends and family with a Visitation beginning at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM. Interment private. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation.
