Mother: No words can describe how determined and strong willed my Mother was. She was born July 14th, 1940 in Cambodia and married my Father in 1960. She had 10 children, survived 5 years of Communism and Refugee Camps. In 1979, we escaped from the Thai Refugee Camp without any money or gold for trading. She begged for anything just to support her children. Determined to have a better life and having her children educated, she did everything she could for that all to come true. She borrowed and begged with infant son in her arms and made it to the first Refugee Camp, got sent back to Cambodia and half way back, she tried again for the second time for another try to get through. She was successful in the second attempt but the cost was for the loss of one of her sons. She was determined to find him but didn't have any luck.

My Mother was very talented. She spoke all dialects of Chinese, participated in all sports, can ride all types of bikes and scooters; which is better than me, sung at her children's weddings, always hard-working, raised 10 kids, cooked, cleaned and she loved to color. She brought us to the US on 9/28/1981 after years of hardship during Khmer Rouge.

I guess my Mom wanted to retire from all the sicknesses she had. Both of my Grandparents must have wanted her back with them and we are glad to see her off in a better place without pain and suffering. As for my brothers, sisters and I, we would like to thank her for the life she has given us, all the love, support, protection and guidance. We would like to wish her a better life with the Angels, with her parents, and my Father. Love from all of us, Rest in Peace Mother. -KKO
