+Travis Edward Waters, Jr., 69, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away October 15, 2024.
Born September 17, 1955 in Augusta, GA, he was a son of the late +Travis E., Sr., and +Frances Mae (nee Watson) Waters.
+Travis was the beloved husband of Kathleen Beth (nee Tanner) Waters; loving father of Dillon Waters (Samantha), Trey Waters III, Gabriella Uhazie (Patrick), Angelina Grace Colombo, and Magdalena Frances Waters; adoring grandfather of JD Waters, Millie Waters, Peter Uhazie, and one more grandchild on the way; dear brother of Dorothy Williams (Ron), and Jane Burgess (Roy); and caring brother-in-law of Julia Waters. He was predeceased by his brother, +Charlie Waters.
+Travis was an exceptionally devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather. He led his family with kindness, patience, and faith.
+Travis grew up in Athens, Georgia and attended Clarke Central and Cedar Shoals High School. +Travis enrolled at the University of Georgia and graduated with a degree in Finance. +Travis continued his studies, earning a Master of Business Administration from the University of Georgia. Throughout his career, +Travis enjoyed working as a senior and expert Finance Director at Cisco Systems. +Travis was a highly accomplished, humble, and kind teammate and leader. He enjoyed being with his coworkers every day, and considered them dear friends.
+Travis was passionate about all University Georgia sports, notably the Bulldog football team. He recently attended and cheered on the win of the Atlanta Falcons over the Philadelphia Eagles. He often took the trip to Philadelphia to cheer on the Atlanta Braves when they played the Phillies. +Travis played sports throughout the entirety of his life, including football, tennis, golf, and in more recent years, speed walking with the dogs. He proudly took on the role of basketball and baseball coach for his children. +Travis supported his children in any way and was an advocate for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, Penn State THON, and Special Olympics.
+Travis had a deep commitment to his health and was an avid cook. His favorite dishes were seafood, notably cooking salmon every night and ordering shrimp at every restaurant he could. Travis also had great interest in cars, especially Corvettes. +Travis loved to travel south to see his family in Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia. He recently took a trip to Florida with his sons to see the Georgia Bulldogs play and frequently saw his daughter in State College, Pennsylvania. +Travis prioritized the Church, spending multiple hours there a week and attending every service he could. He read his bible every morning and shared special passages with his family, taking every opportunity to spread his Christian faith. He happily served in the Treasury on the Church Council and supported his fellow parishioners in any way he could.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Holy Ascension Antiochian Orthodox Church, 558 Highland Rd, West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment at Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills. There will be a celebration of life luncheon following the burial.
Flowers are welcome as are memorial donations to Horry County Special Olympics and the Philadelphia Chapter Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
