Vincent Giacomucci

June 16, 1930 — April 30, 2015

Vincent A. Giacomucci, age 84, of Broomall, PA, passed away on April 30, 2015. Born in Ardmore, PA, he was the son of the late John and Dorothy Giacomucci (nee Martinelli).

Vincent, along with his partner/brother John, owned and operated County Line Construction Company out of Broomall, PA for 50 years before retiring in 1996 and handing over the torch to his son, Stephen. They were general contractors as well as builders of new home construction. He was a proud member of the St. Pius X Church, Parish and Community for 65 years where he was active in volunteering his time as an usher before joining the choir as one of its original members. Vince enjoyed his bowling days in the St. Pius X Men's league, and also loved playing golf with his brothers, sons, and friends. He coached and umpired in the South Marple Little League and was always a big part of the summers at Lawrence Park Swim Club.

An avid Eagles fan is an understatement, as he was an Eagle's season ticket holder for 30 plus years while attending the games with his son's, brothers and friends. He loved his football team and only had one request in his later years, and that was for the Eagles to win him a Super Bowl. Although his dream did not come true, he was fortunate enough to witness and experience an NFL championship in 1960.

Vince loved to travel as he and Jean spent many Februaries in Fort Myers, Florida, along with their travels throughout the United States and Europe with their fabulous friends, while creating life long memories. Vacations at the Jersey shore were an annual tradition for Vince and Jean's family where so many memorable times were formed in the waves and on the beaches of Avalon, Margate at Nan's, and Sea Isle City.

Vince's brothers often referred to him as " Saint Vincent ", as a term of endearment in reflection of his admirable, inspirational, and impeccable lifestyle.

He lived a life filled with integrity, morality, and respect, as he was a man of character, accountability and fairness. A person's power, is the lasting impression that they have left on the people they have met in their life, and Vince did that with the best of them. Another one of his favorite sayings was " integrity is always doing the right thing even when no one else is watching ". He lived it, he owned it , and he mentored it. A man who not only talked the talk, but more importantly, walked the walk!!!

As ALZHEIMERS was taking it's toll on dad, he was so very blessed to have his loving, caring and sweet daughter Jean, to help him in his lost ways. Her guiding hand, her sensitive touch, her patience of a saint was admirable and appreciated. It was extremely touching to experience the fondness of a grandchild for his grandfather, as Jean's son, Nicholas, lived through the pain of watching his pop pop fall apart on a daily basis and was there to help him and ease his pain. Jeannie comforted Dad in only a way that a daughter could understand.

Vince was a man that was loved by all, always offering a big smile, a warm hello, a heartfelt compliment, some words of wisdom, or just a good ole pat on the back. Referred to his grandchildren as Pop Pop, they loved him as much as he loved them. All the grandchildren used to say " when are we going to Mimi and Pop Pop's house, and the rest was history. He took immense pride in his faith, his family and friends. One of his favorite sayings was " La Famiglia "

Unquestionably and undeniably, one of the most genuine, sincere, and unselfish men that will have ever graced your presence. An era has ended, we have lost a very special man as Vince will be reunited with his wife Jean, up in heaven. His legacy will live forever as he will be deeply missed by us all.

A humble man, an unselfish man, and a man with a huge heart, a very powerful combination ............With much sadness, we send congratulations to Vince, our father, our role model, our mentor, and our rock, on the successful completion of life !!!!

We the Giacomucci children, with immense pride, were honored, blessed, fortunate, and privileged to call you " Our Dad "........

Vincent was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Kathryn "Jean" Giacomucci (nee Foley). He was the loving father of David V. Giacomucci, Robert J. Giacomucci, Stephen A. Giacomucci, and Jean M. Senatore. Father-in-law of Michele Giacomucci, Fay Giacomucci, Andie Giacomucci, and Jay Senatore. Dear grandfather of Robbie, Drew, Laura, Dennis, Michael, Chris, Tom and Nicholas; great-grandfather of Madelyn and Alex; step grandfather of Nick, Chris, and Michael Campagna, and step great-grandfather of Dominic and Giovanni. Cherished brother of John Giacomucci, Richard Giacomucci, Robert Giacomucci, the late Edward and Nicholas Giacomucci.
