Virginia Mary "Jean" McDonald (nee Capozzoli), age 81, of Drexel Hill, PA, formerly of the Overbrook section of Philadelphia, PA, passed away at home on July 7, 2019. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Capozzoli (nee Stio).
Jean loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She enjoyed going to Mass with her family on Saturdays.
She was a dedicated staff member of St. Raphaela Retreat Center for 27 years.
She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles fan and loved trips to the casino.
Jean was the beloved wife of the late Tellus "Jerry" McDonald; loving mother of Linda McCarrick (Tom), MaryAnn Coyle (Kevin), Joseph McDonald (Kate), Julia Southard (Paul) and John McDonald (Melissa); caring grandchildren Michael McCarrick, Christopher McCarrick, Brigid Robinson, Rachael Coyle Chawluk, Daniel Coyle, Samuel Coyle, Angelina Coyle, Amanda Southard, Sarah Southard, Paul Southard, Bryant McDonald, Shane McDonald, Genevieve McDonald, Tellus McDonald, and Lauren Weigl; her 10 great-grandchildren; dear sister of Mildred Lester and Marie Walker.
Relatives and friends are invited to Jean's Visitation on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 6:00-8:00
PM and Thursday, July 11, 2019 9:00-9:45 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300) followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 6315 Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia, PA.
Interment private.
