Virginia Sefton O'Donnell

Virginia “Ginni” S. O’Donnell, age 82, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025.

Ginni was the daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia (Grant) Sefton of Upper Darby. She is survived by loving children Matthew, Erinn, Loretta and Clement, their partners, and nine wonderful grandchildren, Nicholas, Robert, Brianna, Evelyn, Jack, Thomas, Dean, Marin and Reed. She is also survived by her beloved sister Margaret, and was predeceased by her husband Clement L. O’Donnell, brother Joseph V. Sefton, Jr., and sister Maureen A. Flick.

A Philadelphia native, Ginni attended St. Laurence Elementary, Villa Maria Academy and went on to Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital School of Nursing where she became an RN. She truly valued the close friendships she created in school that lasted her lifetime. She moved around the country with her growing family and finally settled in Berwyn, PA, where she was a beloved mother, wife, neighbor and friend to many for close to 50 years.

She was a lover of the arts and frequented the People’s Light, Walnut Street Theaters and the Philadelphia Orchestra. She also enjoyed visiting and supporting The Barnes and Brandywine River Museums. Ginni was also a member of the Notables singing group, who performed at schools and nursing homes. She especially loved to read fiction in general but Irish literature in particular.

Relatives and friends are invited to Ginni’s Viewing on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 W Lancaster Ave., Wayne, PA 19087. There will be another viewing on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
