Born in Reading, PA in 1933, he was the son of Walter A. Butte and Carrie (Smolinsky) Butte, both deceased.
Walter was a graduate of Drexel University and received his Ph. D. in Chemistry from Temple University. He was a chemist for Sun Oil Company in Marcus Hook, PA for 35 years.
He was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council #11319 at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church in West Chester, PA, in which he was very active.
Walter was the beloved husband of Mary Lou (McGrath) for 55 years; loving father of Stephen Butte, Joseph Butte, Carol Betz, Eileen Kelly and David Butte; loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren; dear brother of Agnes Kuklis.
